Location, location, location!
The Pescadores neighborhood is hot right now! Located just off the federal highway and adjacent to the road that leads to the beach Calle Jose Maria Morelos), this neighborhood offers properties on large lots at a fraction of the price of comparable properties in the seaside village. The neighborhood is not large – basically only 4 blocks by 4 blocks – and offers a nice mix of residential and commercial areas. You’ll find the only air conditioned gym in town (!!) some great restaurants and little tiendas, a beautiful park, workout area, basketball/soccer and baseball fields, but the most attractive feature has got to be the easy access to the beach (about a 15 minute walk, 10 minute bike ride, 5 minute car/scooter drive). We’ve seen lots of development in this area, as it appeals to folks who wish to be close to the beach (but not pay seaside village prices) and outside of a gated community.
Known as the hidden jewel of the Mayan Riviera, Puerto Morelos delights with its wide, white beaches, vibrant town center, lively restaurant scene, charming shops and local artisan markets. While it is just 20 minutes south of the Cancun International Airport and approximately 25 minutes north of Playa del Carmen, the vibe in Puerto Morelos is a million miles away from these tourist towns. Life is slower here.
