The beach in front is pristine and while not technically private (there are no private beaches in Mexico) there’s very little traffic on this beach and usually there are no vendors so you can enjoy the Caribbean in peace.
While Cancun is close (about 15 minutes to the north) you’ll most likely be doing your grocery shopping, dining and people-watching in the laid back fishing village of Puerto Morelos, which is about a 10-15 minute drive to the south.
The Bahia Petempich area itself features miles of wide, white sandy beach, sprinkled with private residences and all-inclusive resorts. There is a marina and beach club with a restaurant just north of The Beach Residences, gas and light grocery shopping is about a 5 minute drive up to the highway, and then restaurants and other shopping is about 10 minutes away in the village of Puerto Morelos.
Known as the hidden jewel of the Mayan Riviera, Puerto Morelos delights with its wide, white beaches, vibrant town center, lively restaurant scene, charming shops and local artisan markets. While it is just 20 minutes south of the Cancun International Airport and approximately 25 minutes north of Playa del Carmen, the vibe in Puerto Morelos is a million miles away from these tourist towns.
Easy access to the Cancun Airport and the rest of the Riviera Maya and Yucatan Peninsula has made Puerto Morelos an ideal spot for travelers.
