Aaaand just like that, it’s December and starting to feel a lot like high season in Puerto Morelos!

One sure sign that high season is here is the return of The Puerto Morelos Beach Market this Saturday. This popular artisan market has become a favorite for folks all around the Riviera Maya. Not only is it held in a beautiful location on the beach at My Paradise Beach Bar – you can find a little bit of everything there: home goods, clothing, swimsuits, art, jewelry, bags, and don’t forget the yummy homemade food items! Pro Tip: try the choripan…. you won’t regret it!

The Copa Del Rey Polo Tournament also returns on Saturday. This annual event at the Del Rey Polo Club (yes, Puerto Morelos has a polo club!) is a crowd pleaser. First, it’s just fun to see the polo club itself – with its beautiful open club house and the gorgeous polo field beyond. Then add the gorgeous horses and the players (riders?) in their colorful uniforms. Finally, even beyond the polo match, the people watching is fantastic.

Sunday brings back a local favorite — the 7th Annual Chili Cook-off at Cantina Habanero! The title of best Chili is hotly contested (see what I did there… ) but the real winners are the folks with tickets to taste all the entries. YUM!
