Happy 3rd Birthday to Us! (And year in review, because it’s DECEMBER already…)

December 17, 2019

We never look good in the same picture, so here’s another version… 🙂

Our little business turned 3 last week!

We meant to celebrate then, but we were so busy and then we both got sick, so we are celebrating today.

It’s so hard to believe that it’s December already, and that we have completed our third year in business. But here we are….

Since it’s the end of the year and our birthday, here’s a little “year in review” to let you know what we’ve been up to!

Year 3

Year three was great! The market slowed down a bit (which gave us a chance to breathe) but we still got to work with some great clients (which seems to be the norm, honestly, it’s so nice!) and moved several properties.

We can’t say enough how grateful we are that our clients have chosen to work with us. It’s so gratifying to be part of making a dream come true for buyers and helping sellers sell so they can move on to the next adventure. Here is the crew from this year!

Education

We continued our educational outreach with a Seller’s Workshop (Understanding Capital Gains) and our Moving to Mexico Mondays program, which has really been fun and successful.

Broker Tour!

We also hosted a Broker Tour for agents around the Riviera Maya. Special thanks to Caroline Gallegos, Donna Sercu and Jorie Maloney for their help in organizing the event and pulling it off on the day of the event. And really special thanks to Dona Sonia & Chef Marco for providing yummy eats! We are a two-man show, so when our friends offer to pitch in we are so thankful!

Giving Back

We continued our work with MexiCAN Compassion Project, including taking part in the big Halloween Walk About.

And we helped raise money for local animal rescues by participating in the Sangria contest, which Gabriel WON!!!

My name is on the certificate, but it was all Gabriel!

We also helped bring a donated fire truck to Puerto Morelos! This was a multiple year project spearheaded by Brad Volvovich, who has a house in Puerto Morelos and is a firefighter in Canada. Brad and his team put in a huge amount of time and money getting this truck here, and then they trained local volunteer firefighters on how to use it. We were able to donate about $600 USD over the course of a couple of years, which was just a small portion of the total cost. But every cent helps, right? This is the stuff that makes us believe in the goodness of people.

Road Trip

No trips to Paris this year, but we had an amazing time on a road trip around the Yucatan peninsula in late July. We started in Tulum, then went to Bacalar for a few days, then hit Kohunlich, Becan, Xpu Hil and Calakmul Mayan ruin sites. SO beautiful and impressive. We then went to Campeche and stayed at a 400 year old Hacienda (which is now a Marriott Bonvoy property – so we weren’t exactly roughing it…) After that we drove to Merida and visited friends, then back to Puerto Morelos.

Off the beaten path in Campeche

Mil Gracias

We are so grateful for all of the opportunities that we have had and all of the wonderful people that we have met this year. We are continually grateful for the experience to work and live in this amazing town with such incredible people.

Mostly we are, as always, grateful for your continued friendship, business and support.

Warmest wishes,

Kim & Gabriel
